Industrial production (gross series) was up 7% in the first two months of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, following the growth in the manufacturing industry (+ 9.6%) and extractive industry (+ 5.3%), according to a press release by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased by 4.5%.
Industrial production, adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality in the first two months of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, increased by 7.4% due to the increases in the manufacturing industry (+ 9.9%) and extractive industry (+ 5.4%).
The production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased by 4.2%.

In February 2018, compared to the same month of the previous year, industrial production (gross series) increased by 5.8% due to increases in all three industrial sectors:
- manufacturing (+ 6.9%)
- extractive industry (+ 5.3%)
- production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+ 0.4%).
Industrial production, adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality, increased by 6.7% following the increases in manufacturing (+ 7.5%) and extracting industry (+ 5.4%). The production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased by 0.3%.
In February 2018, industrial production (gross series) increased by 3.7% compared to the previous month, supported by the manufacturing industry (+ 5.3%) and the extractive industry (+ 0.1%). The production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning decreased by 3.2%.
Industrial production, series adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality, decreased by 0.7% compared to the previous month because of the decrease in the manufacturing sector (-2.5%). The production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning and the extractive industry increased by 5.8% and 3.2%, respectively.
