The representatives of Ford Craiova met on Wednesday with mayors of 30 localities from Dolj county in order to stimulate the attraction of 1,700 new employees needed to increase production of EcoSport SUV model.
Employments mainly target conveyor belt operators, given that the production of the new model must lead to a more efficient use of the production capacity.
The company is ready to pay, in part, the transportation of employees on a distance of no more than 35 kilometres.
Benefits are also added and the company is to ensure or cover the cost settlement for the transport to Craiova, as well as meal vouchers, various bonuses, depending on the unit where they will work,” said Oana Bica, vice-president of Dolj County Council, quoted by CraiovaForum.
Ford plans to invest EUR 200 million for the launch of the new model, which brings the total investment to EUR 1.2 billion from the factory takeover, in 2008, until now.
The company will reach about 6,000 employees, provided that the plant Uzina de Asamblare a Vehiculelor was equipped with 550 industrial robots for increasing the efficiency and quality of car painting, general assembling and bodywork departments.
