Proposals to amend the Criminal Code started to be debated on Thursday at the Special Committee on the Laws on the Judiciary headed by former Minister Florin Iordache.
The committee discusses changes to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Code of Civil Procedure.
Decriminalisations of some acts, placing articles in the content of these Codes dedicated to government coalition leaders who are prosecuted, the effects that these amendments produce on the immune system of the society by extending the decriminalisation from corruption acts to the common law offenses,
to which the change in definitions of organized crime and in the recognition and adducing of evidence is added,
configures a situation of an absolute first in Romania’s judicial philosophy so far:
the debates that will follow will be a true negotiation with the Mafia, and the starting point for the victims of these offenses, that is, the society itself, is very low. Criminal Codes are not made to sanction and recover the damage, but to protect, through these essential laws, the offenders and their catch.
Files such as Hexi Pharma, Colectiv, Retrocession business of tens of billions of euros, TelDrum, etc. – would be closed either by using the new procedure „tricks”, or by decriminalizing some acts, by redefining them or failing to recognize the evidence adduced.
